ACCESSIBILITY
Attending Bay Block Party but you have questions about accessibility? Here’s what attendees can expect:
Free-entry to festival grounds, everyone is welcome!
Accessible drop-off location at the intersection of Ferguson & Oak - the closest point of access for those attending the Main Stage concerts;
Staff and volunteers are provided with training on AODA Customer Service Standard and appropriate methods to serve visitors best;
Barrier-free washrooms located at both washroom locations - Block One near the Main Stage and Block Three near Kids Zone;
We have contracted an independent company to ensure sidewalks are kept clear of debris and trash throughout the event;
Main Street is closed to vehicular traffic from Algonquin to Sherbrooke, allowing pedestrians to use both the sidewalks and roads as walkways;
We welcome mobility aids, such as motorized scooters & service animals;
If you’re concerned about standing for long periods, feel free to bring a lawn chair to use while enjoying the event;
If you’re looking for a spot to take a break that’s cool and quiet, the WKP Kennedy Gallery will be open from 12 - 6pm inside the Capitol Centre;
There will be a First Aid tent on Block Two, closest to the Main & Ferguson intersection.
Additionally, Main Street features ramps, handrails, tactile paving at intersections, and more.
If you have any questions prior to the event, please send us an email at bayblockparty@capitolcentre.org.
As a free-entry event, Bay Block Party prides itself in offering barrier-free entertainment for all to enjoy, regardless of personal circumstances. However, we acknowledge there are areas we can improve on, and we are committed to exploring solutions in an effort to make the event more inclusive and equitable for all.
